A new book from Nubes Argentea will be available for sale from the end of October. Entitled “The Spectre Arises: The Story of the Phantom III, the ultimate pre-war Rolls-Royce”, the book has been written by renowned authority on the model, Steve Stuckey, from Australia. Steve is a Fellow of the Phantom III Technical Society.
The book covers the development of the Phantom III in a period when competitors to the Rolls-Royce were making innovations in the luxury car market. Rolls-Royce responded with their first V-12 motor, and with independent suspension.
The book is timed for the 80th anniversary of the announcement of the model at the London Motor Show in October 1935. It includes over 500 photographs, almost all from the 1930s and 1940s and many never seen before.
There is a comprehensive register of all 727 of the models made, plus information on all original owners of the cars.
